What is L-Theanine ?

L-Theanine is a naturally occurring amino acid that has been shown in some studies to help with energy levels and stress.

Its effect is supported by thousands of years of use in Chinese medicine, as well as the latest scientific and clinical research. ( Resources at the bottom )

This natural nootrop was originally made from Green Tea in 1949. It has since been researched for its ability to maintain brain health and enhance focus.

The cognitive effects of L-Theanine are evident when combined with caffeine, or naturally consumed in green tea. Two-ingredient synergy: Caffeine increases alertness, and Theanine can reduce some of the causes of nervousness and anxiety that can occur with stimulants.

Before deciding whether to use L-Theanine, you may be wondering what it is, the studies it publishes, the benefits it reports, how it works, and the possible side effects.

L-Theanine Benefits

L-theanine ( gamma-glutamethylamide ) is an analogue of glutamate and glutamine that can cross the blood brain barrier.

It is a form of L-glutamic acid that can help increase and modulate alpha brain waves. These brain waves help to create feelings of calm, relaxation and alertness.

In addition to the naturally occurring Camellia Sinensis (green tea), L-Theanin is also found in certain types of fungi.

The chemical composition of this substance is similar to that of L-tryptophan. It is a precursor of the neurotransmitter serotonin (which helps influence sleep cycles and feelings of relaxation).

Several studies have been conducted to confirm the benefit of Theanine. The first was in 1999. Journal of Food Science and Technology published. Researchers have noticed some interesting facts about people taking 50 to 200 mg of Theanine a week.

Their brain waves were then measured and it was found that those receiving the highest doses of Theanin produced the most alpha brain waves. This allowed them to be more relaxed and still alert enough to perform difficult tasks.

Animal studies have shown that this supplement causes higher levels of dopamine in the brain. 2004 A study by Harvard Medical School shows that this supplement also acts as a boost to the immune system and helps increase the body’s resistance to colds and flu.

Studies have even been done on chemotherapy patients taking L-Theanine. These results indicate that the supplement helps focus chemicals on unhealthy cells. It can also help reduce the side effects of chemotherapy due to its soothing and relaxing effects, although more research is needed for this use. Check Health Supplements for more.

Supplements with L-Teanine

Theanine has many different benefits for mood, cognitive function, and general health. The main effect is the feeling of relaxation.

L-Theanine is also the reason why green tea is drunk for anxiety and nervousness (unlike coffee), despite the fact that green tea contains caffeine. Theanine actually helps to alleviate those caffeine-related side effects, relieves signs of nervousness or anxiety.

This dietary supplement can help protect the brain and support better maintenance of brain cells. This prevents neurons from being damaged by blocking excessive stimulation of cells and protecting them from low oxygen levels. You can get L-Theanine here.

How Does it Work?

Although the specific mechanisms of action of L-Theanin are not fully understood, it has the potential to cross the blood-brain barrier.

It penetrates the blood very quickly and is very fast acting.

It works by targeting various neurotransmitters and their receptors. These include serotonin, dopamine, GABA and norepinephrine.

These are all powerful brain chemicals that have a profound effect on cognitive processes, sleep and relaxation cycles, even pleasure and the brain’s reward system. Visit Noopapildai, for more information.

Side Effects

There are no known specific side effects associated with this dietary supplement. However, some users have reported diarrhea at high doses of Theanin. Despite the fact that L-Theanine was made with a beverage containing caffeine, such as green tea or coffee, this is the common way people consume this supplement, and the acidity of the drink has actually caused gastrointestinal upset.

This supplement is not recommended for use with medicines to treat high blood pressure; the combination may actually reduce blood pressure too much. Also, do not take Theanine with stimulants as this will probably reduce themefficiency. It is always advisable to talk to your doctor before starting any new supplements.
